Fine George III Mahogany Secretaire Bookcase
Circa 1770
The secretaire bookcase features richly hued and finely figure veneers. The upper part surmounted by a swan's neck cornice, over the dentil-molded frieze and two astragal-glazed doors opening to three adjustable shelves; the lower part comprised of pigeon holes, drawers and inset black gilt-tooled leather writing surface; over three graduated cockbeaded drawers; on bracket feet. With original swan neck pulls and escutcheons. Provenance: Reindeer antiques, London
