The rectangular hinged top with canted corners centered by a painted octagonal panel depicting life and death, opening to reveal a red painted interior; the frieze painted with gilt-edged red rectangular panels with gilt fretwork; raised on faux bamboo legs joined by arched X-form stretchers.
