A hand-constructed rectangular box with a pyramid capital atop the stepped, removable lid. The entire box sits on the plinth and is wrapped in a white and pale yellow, porphyry-inspired and hand-painted paper with red and taupe accents. The capitalized lid can be removed to reveal a white, pink, and black hand-painted, porphyry- inspired paper interior.

Thomas Engelhart (American, 1972–) is an artist living and working in New York City. His boxes and objects are explorations of color, pattern and form. The papers are hand painted in studio before being applied to the hand constructed boxes. Each piece is truly unique.
