A medium-sized, hand-constructed spire created by three box components. The bottom box is situated on a plinth and is topped with a flat lid. The second box is simply of rectangular form and has a similar flat lid for the third piece to rest on. The top box has a more articulated, dimensional body and is lidded with a pointed top. All pieces are wrapped in a pink, orange, and black hand-painted and marbleized paper. The interior of each box is painted gray.

Thomas Engelhart (American, 1972–) is an artist living and working in New York City. His boxes and objects are explorations of color, pattern and form. The papers are hand painted in studio before being applied to the hand constructed boxes. Each piece is truly unique.
