The artist has stamped his initials 'TE' on the bottom of the obelisk piece.

This pair of monumental obelisks are hand-constructed and created by two components. The base is a lidded columnar box which has a pronounced base and top, as well as a thin shelf running around the perimeter of the base, midway up the section. The top portion is an obelisk form that caps in a gold Dutch metal paper accent. The interior of the base is painted pink.

Thomas Engelhart

Thomas Engelhart (American, 1972–) is an artist living and working in New York City. His boxes and objects are explorations of color, pattern and form. The papers are hand painted in studio before being applied to the hand constructed boxes. Each piece is truly unique.
