Pair of Fine Regency Black Painted and Chinese Lacquer Side Tables
Circa 1800
These unusual tables are designed to also be used back to back, and connect to make a square table if desired.
Each with eared slightly incurved tops with polychrome and gilt decoration of summer flowers and butterflies, over a narrow conforming frieze gilt with flowerhead and strap work; raised on stylized bamboo-form legs joined at the front by Gothic latticework and a conforming brass-galleried platform stretcher.
