Regency Mahogany Triangular Table
Circa 1790
The dished highly figured top over a conforming frieze mounted with brass carrying handles; raised on turned tapering legs ending in brass caps and casters. The sleek lines and simplicity of this piece epitomize the early Regency taste as espoused by the Prince Regent in his late 18th century decoration of Carlton House which was heavily influenced by the severe French taste of the Directoire period.
