A Mottahedeh Covered Squash Tureen with Underdish

The tureen in the form of a yellow and green-striped squash with a turquoise scrolling vine surmounting the lid; with turquoise foliage-form underdish. The underside with Mottahedeh sticker and bearing number and "Italy".

Mottahedeh
Mottahedeh and Company was founded by Mildred and Rafi Mottahedeh in 1929 and has focused on reproducing historic examples of porcelain, faience and stoneware. They have collaborated with the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation, the Historic Charleston Foundation, Mount Vernon, Winterthur Museum and Gardens, Monticello and many other institutions.
